5 Days in Hong Kong

We had a 5 day trip to Hong Kong in January. We, along with another Senior Couple, were assisting a group of 25 Khmer people attend the temple for the first time.   For most this was the first time on an airplane and first trip to another country.  A few spoke both English and Khmer and acted as translators.  Everything went pretty much according to plan, and we spent nearly all of the time assisting with the temple work.  The folks working at the Hong Kong temple were very friendly and helpful.  We also spent some time watching the 10 children, at times when their parents were busy in the temple.  Fortunately, there is a park adjacent to the temple housing, where the kids could run around and play.  There were some interesting situations encountered when folks from rural Cambodia are placed in an upscale neighborhood in Hong Kong.

Susie and I did manage to spend an afternoon at a couple Hong Kong locations I had heard about, but had not had the opportunity to visit during past trips to Hong Kong.  The Flower Market, where there is a long row of flower shops selling amazing live arrangements of orchids, and the Bird Market, where many types of birds, cages and food are sold.

  1. Where did you stay? Did they have breakfast included? What kind of breakfast was it? How much did it cost? Did you have to reserve ahead? Where did you eat? What did you eat? Thanks!
