Coastal California, Santa Barbara to San Benito.

The truck and trailer are working fine and we are pretty comfortable with living as RV nomads now. We continue to move from place to place, staying in public and private RV parks, and staying away from other people. We spend our time relaxing and exploring each area, and occasionally completing blog posts.

Santa Barbara

If money were no object, we would have a home in Santa Barbara.  Walks along the beach and the wharf, walks around the lagoon at UC Santa Barbara.

Rancho Oso

Dry grass hillsides dotted with large shady oak trees.  Warm afternoons but cool mornings and nights.  A bike ride, where I met this rattlesnake crossing the trail, visit to Solvang, hanging out.

Morro Bay

Foggy mornings with brief afternoon sun followed by foggy evenings.  We were genuinely cold here, despite this being mid-July.  Walks on Beach, ride through town, visit with our nephew and family.

Pismo Beach

Sunsets in the massive sand dunes behind the RV park.  Bike ride on the State Vehicular Recreation Area beach, where, due to Covid-19, no vehicles are currently allowed on the beach.

San Benito

Wild pigs, deer, quail, squirrels peacefully walking through the  campground.    A 10 mile hike in Pinnacles National Park, and we saw the comet Neowise in the dark night sky.

Next up:  Monterey California, and soon, a tour of the trailer now that it is looking pretty good.

Only Susie and Dave could find a way to be adventuring during a pandemic- and doing it in style! We will be in Newport Beach August 15-20- any chance the RV will make a stop near there during those dates? The Graham’s would love to see you!

We would love to see you too, but in August we are more likely to be closer to Newport Oregon than Newport Beach, California. We plan to be in Utah in October as we make our way south for the winter.
