Full time travel is a marathon, not a sprint, so we aren’t in tourist mode all the time. We’ve taken some time to work on “stuff back home”, such as Susie renewing her Real Estate License (we still have a couple houses to sell in Idaho), doing some work for Forsta, laundry, finances, figuring out and booking things for the rest of our trip, where we’ll be in the US in March, and what follows that. Just normal life stuff, plus an abnormal amount of travel arrangements.
We did take the funicular to the top of Penang Hill, just over 2000 feet in elevation. There are theme parkish activities at the top, but also some nice roads to walk through the jungle conditions. There were some strong storms a few weeks ago here, which caused a lot of erosion in places. Insects or frogs all singing together made for some eerie sounds (turn up the volume on those). Oh, and check out the giant ant. Over 1/2 inch long….
We also took the bus over to Batu Ferenghi beach, which has more hotels and shops than the beach where we are. We walked the length of the beach, had a nice Yemini dinner and then had a foot “pedicure” where you put your feet into a tank, and a bunch of little fish swim over and eat the dead skin off of your feet. I was a fish favorite as I had a lot of dead skin…. They call it a “Fish Spa” but that’s not from the perspective of the fish.
Sunday we’ll be back a church and perhaps walk around George Town some more then Monday we fly to Bangkok Thailand.
