We spent a day at the Gardens by the Bay, with it’s amazing Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and Super Tree Grove Sculptures. I’ve never seen anything like it. Both the Cloud Forest and Flower Garden are inside of huge glass enclosures to regulate the environment.
The Giant Trees Sculptures put on a music and light show in the evenings. All three are worth seeing. The Super Tree Grove is free, the other two have entrance fees.
We also visited the Singapore History Museum, starting with prehistoric man through the modern era. A fascinating story from small trading port to English colony to Japanese occupation in WW II, independence, a failed merger with Malaysia and then the growth to a modern vibrant city.
And then the Singapore Zoo, clearly one of the best zoos in the world. The vegetation is lush the park is large and and the exhibits are laid out well so the animals don’t get as board and depressed. We especially liked their ape and monkey exhibits and the Fragile Forest enclosure where visitors are face to face with many animals. The complex consists of 4 different attractions. We only visited the zoo, which filled our whole afternoon.
Next, we head by train to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia
